βš–οΈ Mastering Polity: Prelims Strategy

With the exam on May 24, Polity remains the highest-yielding section. Focus on:

  • The Preamble & FRs: Nearly 30% of Polity questions stem from Fundamental Rights, DPSP, and Duties.

  • Elimination Logic: UPSC is increasingly using “Only one pair,” “Only two pairs” options. Move beyond basic elimination and focus on conceptual absolute clarity.

  • Statutory Bodies: Given the recent 2025-26 reforms, pay close attention to the powers of the Election Commission and Finance Commission.

⚑ Top 3 “Prelims 2026” Polity Hacks

  1. The Governor Rule: Given the recent friction in several states, expect a complex statement-based question on the discretionary powers of the Governor vs. the President.

  2. Comparison Table: Don’t study Constitutional Bodies in isolation. Create a table comparing the Removal Process and Service Conditions of the CAG, CEC, and UPSC Chairman. UPSC loves to swap these facts.

  3. The “Current” Connection: For every news item on “Electoral Bonds” or “Statehood,” go back to the static chapter (Elections / Art 2–4) and read it that same day.

⚠️ Peer Reminder: The UPSC application portal for 2026 closes on February 24th. If you haven’t completed your OTR (One-Time Registration) and uploaded your live photo yet, do it today before the servers slow down!
