UPSC IES & ISS Recruitment 2026: Apply Now for Indian Economic & Statistical Service Before March 3!

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the notification for the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2026. This prestigious recruitment drive aims to fill 44 Group ‘A’ posts in the central government.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Indian Economic Service (IES): A Post-Graduate Degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, or Econometrics from a recognized university.

• Indian Statistical Service (ISS): A Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics as a subject OR a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics.

2. Age Limit (as of August 1, 2026)

• Minimum: 21 Years | Maximum: 30 Years.

• Candidates must have been born between August 2, 1996, and August 1, 2005.

• Standard government age relaxations apply for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen.

📝 Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection consists of two main stages:

1. Written Examination (1000 Marks): * IES: General English, General Studies, and four Economics papers (Descriptive/Essay type).

   • ISS: General English, General Studies, and four Statistics papers (Two Objective, Two Descriptive).

2. Viva-Voce / Interview (200 Marks): Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will be assessed on personality, leadership, and analytical skills.

2. Fill Application: Navigate to the IES/ISS Examination 2026 link and fill in the required personal and academic details.

3. Uploads: Submit scanned copies of your Passport Photograph (70-80% face coverage) and Signature.

4. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee of ₹200 via Online Banking or Card.

   • Exemption: All Female candidates, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from the fee.
